Soft hand is the sign of good care of the health and younger looking. Many of us care for our face and overlook towards the hands. Due to cold temperature and frequent use of hard hand wash may lead to dry and hard skin on the hand. To get soft hand you have to remove the existing dry skin by using lotion, natural oils, sugar scrubs, protective coverings, and the occasional deep-conditioning salve.
CAUSES OF DRY HANDS
1: Environmental Factors: During winter season the temperature and humidity levels drops and your skin cannot hold moisture. Because of the dry air, your skin of the body and hands cannot hold moisture and becomes dry and hard.
2: Frequent hand wash: Those who wash their hands frequently using the sanitizer, soap and other harsh chemicals then their skin cannot hold moisture which may lead to dry and hard skin. Most of the housewife who has to frequently wash their dishes and need to involve in cleaning purpose also leads to hard and dry skin.
3: Use of Medicine: There are certain medications that cause dry skin by reducing the stratum corneum’s water levels, making it porous and leaky. There are some diseases that affect the skin, for example, psoriasis and eczema, can cause dry skin on the hands, as well as skin that peels and cracks.
4: Sun Exposure: Sun exposure in any climate can dry out the skin. UV rays penetrate deep below the skin’s surface, which also creates wrinkles and sagging in addition to dryness. The heat of the sun dries out skin by reducing its natural oil levels.
Home Remedies To Get Soft Hands
1: Sugar Scrub: Take 1 table spoon of sugar and a half table spoon of coconut oil and blend it wisely. Apply this scrub in your hand and massage it gently and then rinse with normal tap water. This gently massage of scrub helps to peel of the accumulated dry skin from your hand and make it soft and smooth. You can also apply some regular moisturizer after scrub.
Note: Do this scrub 1-2 times in a week.
2: Coconut: Gently massage 1-2 teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil in your hand as per requirement and wear a glove. It will be best to apply this oil in the bedtime so that it will get over night time to rejuvenate your skin and makes your hand soft and glowing.
3: Honey: Take a little raw honey and apply it in your hand gently. Leave this honey for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with normal tap water. It will be better if you massage honey in your hand for 1-2 times a day to get soft and beautiful hand. The emollient nature of honey can help make your hands softer as it can hydrate, soothe, and moisturize your skin.
4: Aloe Vera: Take 1 tablespoon of aloe Vera gel and gently massage it in your hand. Leave this gel for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with normal water. You can also add some pinch of sugar in the aloe Vera gel and massage it gently. Aloe Vera gel has a healing and hydrating properties and is ideal to provide the dry skin with the much needed moisturisation. It also helps to get rid of dead cells and clear pores of grime. It will be best if you apply this gel in the bedtime so that it will nourish your skin within a night to get smooth, silky soft skin.
5: Oat meal: Take 1 tablespoon of oats meal powder and oil like olive oil or coconut oil as per your requirement. Mix it well and gently massage in your hands. Leave it for 15-20 minutes, then wash it off with water. Here oats can help rejuvenate the skin and makes your hand soft and glowing. For better result try this remedy once a day.
6: Egg Yolk: Take 1 egg yolk and a teaspoon of honey. Mix it well and apply this mixture in your hand. Leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with the warm water. In order to get rid of the egg odor, wash your hand with mild soap water. To get better result, you can do this 3-4 times in a week. Egg yolk is rich in a compound called lecithin, which is an emollient with amazing skin conditioning properties that is skin softening properties.
7: Sweet Almonds Oil Massage: Apply sweet almond oil in the hand until it dries. It is better to apply in the bedtime and wear a glove so that skin get nourish in the night time. Or you can massage this oil in your hand and leave it for 15 -20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. Apply this oil once or twice a day daily to get effective results. Sweet almond oil contains high levels of the fatty acids and antioxidants that can help in moisturizing your hands and making them softer.
8: Lemon and Sugar Scrub: Take a half lemon peel and add a sugar on it. Now massage your hand using this lemon until the sugar dissolves completely. After that rinse with normal tap This is a simple remedy which can be done every day. This will not only exfoliate your dead skin but also will lighten your skin tone and get you rid of tanned skin. You can do this 3-4 times in a week.
9: Vaseline: Apply a thin layer of Vaseline jelly in your hands before bed time and wear a cotton gloves. You can wear a clean cotton shock instead of gloves. The Vaseline jelly helps to moisturize your hand in the night and helps to make your hand soft and glowing. You can apply this jelly once a day regularly in order to get best result.
